They say it’s better
to love and lose
your head
your mind
your heart
your body
Drunk on love
but for now
my soul disagrees.
Too many endings
in just this one lifetime
makes my spirit weary
Sick of hope.

Hi Judy. Here’s a quote you might like (or hate since it plays the opposite side of your theme) by Mary Wollstonecraft: “It is better to be often deceived than never to trust” (1792). Wollstonecraft, among other things, was the greatest feminist ever to write in English, as the ideas from her 1792 “Vindication” are more persuasive and resonant than any subsequent feminists past or present. Hi Daedalus, today I’ll disagree with Mary, and I’ll add the corny but true, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!” 🙂

It’s a tough place…but also that wide-eyed feeling of searching for first love and connection- remember that? It burns deep as well

Yes, I remember… but that’s part of the problem, the unfulfillable longing.
