Polanski’s dark films reflect his dark life

Sharon Tate’s gruesome murder by the Manson family ended the 60’s Summer of Love

1)Chinatown, Roman Polanski’s heroine played by Faye Dunaway, is the daughter of a rich pedophlie, played by John Huston. She has to pretend that her daughter is her younger sister, but it’s her father who impregnated her. In real life Polanski drugged, raped and sodomized a 13 yr old girl. He pleaded guilty to statutory rape, but then fled the country to avoid a court trial and possible imprisonment..

2)Rosemary’s Baby, Mia Farrow plays a young wife who gets recruited by a Satanic cult that her husband belongs to, he impregnates her with the devil’s child.

3)Tess, I love the Thomas Hardy book, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, but the theme is about how an innocent, naive young woman gets seduced/raped which ruins her life, she ends up murdering the rapist and is executed.

4)Death and the Maiden, a Holocaust survivor confronts a nazi who tortured her. Polanski’s mother died in a concentration camp.

5)The Pianist, a depressing film about a pianist who is hiding from the nazis.

6)BitterMoon, a prim and proper British couple encounters a sexually charged couple on a cruise, they hear about the couple’s disturbing, sex obsessed lives and the two women end up having adulterous sex together, which climaxes with the murder suicide of the fiendish couple.

7)The Ninth Gate, a collector of rare books becomes embroiled in a search for a satanic book, the book seller, played by Johnny Depp ends up sleeping with the devil and it’s a demonic, she.

Seigner is his creepy muse and wife.

I didn’t know that Sharon Tate was cheating on Roman Polanski while she was pregnant with his child. Was Sharon’s murder ordered by Polanski? She was caught up in something diabolical, her quote about the devil is so frightening.

    1. I agree, my taste in films have changed. I used to think complex stories were more intelligent but I think they’re meant to desensitize and sell concepts to the audience=propaganda. When we watch violence it gives an adrenaline spike that’s stressful to our bodies. I have to fast forward through violence, rape, torture scenes to be able to watch movies.
