I canceled my Netflix account, it’ll shut off next week but here are my recommendations for binge watching during the covid-19 shut down. Be Well everyone❤️
Documentary
*S is for Stanley (2016)
*The Animal People (2019)
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (2020)
*LA 92 (2017)
*The trials of Gabriel Hernandez (2020)
Drama/Romance
To All the Boys P.S. I love You (2020) this is YA but so cute, the first and probably only film with a Korean lead character. I liked the first film too, this is a sequel.
Anna Karenina (2012)
Drama based on a true story
*Chappaquiddick (2017)
Reality TV
*Restaurants on the Edge (2020)
*I especially recommend these
I don’t really have the attention span for TV but thanks for sharing. ❤

Anna Karenina (2012) is one of my favorite all time movie. A great movie based on the novel written by Leo Tolstoy. Definitely a five star suggestion Judy. Love 💕 Joni

🤔 Judy, what is the reason for cancelling your Netflix account? It seems like an unusual action to take (Especially when a lot of us are awaiting the diminish of COVID-19).

I don’t seem to want to watch what available on Netflix, I have other free streaming apps that I watch more, so I decided it let go of it. I might go back after awhile.

🙂 Your reason is most valid!

Thanks for the recommendations.
I’m thinking of reading Anna Karenina this year — would watching the movie first diminish or enhance the book, do you think?

To be honest I haven’t read Anna Karenina yet, I tried to years ago but couldn’t get into the story. I’m like that sometimes with books, I have to be in a certain mood to read them. I always think the book is better but I’ve seen several versions of the film. I liked how this one was presented, it seemed like a theatrical play and had good actors.

Completely understand that, I remember picking the book up many years ago and not getting far. Think the more modern translations would make it easier going

I agree, the language was old fashioned and made it unreadable for me. Maybe it was a bad translation.

I remember paying extra for what is considered THE translation of ‘The Count of Monte cristo’ and that was an incredible read. I’ll do the same for any of those Russian epics!

So much poetry in the language gets list in a bad translation, better to capture the essence of thought vs literal translation perhaps.
