Poem: synchronicity deja vu

Love lost is never again

Launched into infinity

Finding it would be a miracle

synchronicity deja vu.

When you’re old you’ll know

the invisible anonymity.

Age is a costumed blessing

reprieve from the rollercoaster

the gamble for all or nothing

climb and dive and crash

up and out of love.

Lose illusions face what’s hidden

Love is a mirror in disguise

Romance is an elevator ride

Happily ever after is a lottery

Love is the prize

The risk is worth the gain

despite the debilitating pain

of what feels like infinite loss when it’s over.

Lovers would choose to do it all again

even if they knew it’s doomed to fail and end

because the experience itself is the gift

a temporary glimpse into heaven.
