I wish MLK’s spirit was present in our world today, it seems that his message of love, unity, equality, integrity and peace has been forgotten; especially in the United States.

More beautiful quotes of Martin Luther King, Jr.💖🙏:
“I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
“But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.”
“Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.”
“We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
“No one really knows why they are alive until they know what they’d die for.”
“A man who won’t die for something is not fit to live.”
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
“Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.”
“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”
“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
“One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”
“Returning violence for violence multiples violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars…Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
“Lightning makes no sound until it strikes.”
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.”
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy to a friend.”
“Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.”

Wow, I don’t know why I didn’t see this sooner, sorry my friend. Yes I loved your quotes and you are so right MLK was an amazing man with such a magnificent light. Sometimes it is almost overwhelming to think of the deaths during that time frame and wondering what or whom was responsible.
I hope things are settling down where you are Judy. Things have gotten bad in both NC and SC again. We did our weekly outing today but we were grateful to get it over with and managed to make it fun.
Do you have any great movies you could recommend? We largely prefer foreign films to US films. Did you see OKJA? https://www.netflix.com/title/80091936?s=i&trkid=13747225&t=amsg
We enjoyed it but it was hard to watch at times. The young lead actress, was precious and very talented. The actors often are more believable, which makes it easier to relate to them. Now they are making US actors look 20 years younger. Soon they will just use photoshopped version of young actors and they won’t even age. KUBO and the two strings sure made me cry. One of the sweetest and more emotionally packed movies then I have seen in a long time.
Stay safe and be blessed dear Judy. Love to you and all your loved ones. 🌺🌸🤗❤️ Joni

Yes I think the assassinations during the 60s might have been mob hits, many conspiracy theories about them. Have you seen “Chappaquiddick”? It’s no Netflix, it’s a bio pic about Ted Kennedy’s drunk driving scandal that killed a his friend, seemed like he was having an affair with. It was a very well done film, that I recommend. I also liked “Kill the Messenger” starring Jeremy Renner, great acting and based on a true story of Gary Webb, a Pulitzer winning journalist who tried to expose CIA backing of cocaine trafficking. I used to watch a lot of films but haven’t seen many lately that I want to see. I heard Okja was good but I haven’t seen it yet. I like stop motion animation, I’ll try to find Kubo.
I’m sorry to hear that things are getting bad again where you are; it’s getting bad here too in CA. I have to wear a mask at work and now they’re getting us clear visors, I’m tired of the bio hazzard costume. Why is it ok to sit outdoors on the sidewalk to eat lunch without a mask while a server wears a mask and pedestrians walk by with or without masks, it doesn’t make sense to me and I think they’re close schools again. For months every night there are illegal fireworks going off from 9pm to 2am, crazy where I live. Love and blessings to you, Joni😘🌹🙏💖

Yes, his message was so powerful because it focused on love not vengeance. Love is stronger than hate💖. Thank you for your comment.
